Leather-Up for Open Road Wish Fulfilment
wedding/celebration gift or anniversary/birthday memory, a Scottish chauffeur-driven trike tour takes some beating.
The folk behind Trike Tours Scotland Ltd launched their venture last year after six years running a successful brand development /marketing company and identifying a gap in the tourism market in Scotland.
They described themselves as having found an innovative, fun and thought-provoking way of encouraging visitation to - and exploration around - places of interest within Scotland.
“On a Trike with a 1600cc muscle engine is the most exhilarating, unique and hip way to see some of the famously breathtaking scenery of Scotland,” reckons Gordon Shon, one of the principals of the venture. |

“We want our customers to experience the feeling of complete escapism from the humdrum of everyday life.
“Due to the Trike being chauffeur driven they can fully enjoy the freedom out on the open road. Keepsake memories of the trip are made using a video camera or the professional pictures which we take and email customers.”
The company operates within Perthshire, Stirling and the Trossachs, Loch Lomond, the Isle of Mull, St. Andrews, Ayr, Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow where, on the open road, The Trike is definitely a real head turner.
“Safety is paramount to us,” the company’s Tracy Ferguson told Comment: “We provide helmets with hygienic liners, leather jackets, gloves and waterproof clothing if required.
“All of the helmets supplied on our trips have an intergrated head set communication system installed. This allows passengers to talk to each other on tour. Alternatively, they can listen to the theme tune from Braveheart!”
The tours/trips feature beverage/liquor and shortbread breaks, and include the use of ipods for ‘musical accompaniment’.
