Callendar –is known as Scotland's "Gateway to the Trossachs" with stunning scenery whioch inspired books such as Sir Walter Scott's publications of 'Rob Roy' and 'The Lady of the Lake'. It is believed that crowds set off to view the spectacular scenery described by Scott in his books.

Crieff is the main town of Strathearn lying on the southern edge of the Scottish Highlands. It has been a holiday resort since Victorian times and is the second largest town in Perthshire with a population of almost 6000.
James Square with its fountain marks the centre of the town. There are a number of tourist attractions such as Crieff Visitor Centre and Glenturret - Scotland's oldest Distillery.
